-Came home last night late

SATURDAY

-Watching college football WOO-HOO!

SUNDAY

-"The" game...CARDS vs the cats...3:30pm on the big screen (come on over and watch!)

MONDAY
-Haven't planned that far ahead yet...but it won't involve a lot of laboring!

Dad & Lad Part ???

As to act on my previous post Bryan and I decided to have a Dad & Lad night...Holly was going out with one of her girlfriends.

We started out by heading up to Lexington by way of the Valley View Ferry. If you have never been on the ferry it's pretty neat to see and ride. Nothing fancy, just your basic ferry...but an excellent way to 'mix' things up when traveling.

We hit the Fayette Mall first...just browsing around, window shopping. This was particularly hard for Bryan, so a good learning experience. One of our favorite stores we found out closed...the Cat/Bird store. They had all kinds of UK and UL stuff (t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.)...and at a really great price!

Dinner was in the food court...we munched down on some grub while we did some people watching. I love people watching...

After dinner, we went to play some laser tag at Champs Roller Dome. First time either one of us had been there. Really quality place for some Laser Tag! We played two games each...dominated for the most part and then headed home.

Got home...played a few games of pool...then watched the second half of Lord of the Rings (Fellowship). Then went to bed!

A GREAT night with my boy!

Today we are headed up to Taylorsville to visit with mom and my sis and family. Again, acting on my previous post...I wanted to spend some quality time with my family. We'll cook out, play some cards, and come home late tonight.

So again, what matters to you and how are you acting on that?

What Matters...

It's easy to sometimes go throughout a daily routine of life and totally miss out on what matters. When I hit those "dull" times in my life...when I find myself involved with confusing conversations...when I get really frustrated with people or situations or myself...when I get just bummed out about life...here's what I do.

I try to focus on what really matters. Not meaning to sound really generic here...that's what I do, I focus and act on things that really matter in life. What are some of those things? Well...one is my family. I love being with my family. I find peace and strength when I'm with my family. I can have one of those days that I've described above...but when I come home or talk with Holly or Bryan on the phone, for that matter just think about them...the frustration leaves, because they matter...nuff said!

How about you? What matter's?

Scars

A few weekends ago when we were at the Great Wolf Lodge...Bryan and I were in line for a slide and I noticed his scar on his side from all his surgeries...it's a pretty large scar. So while we waiting in line I asked if the scar is still tender or for that matter just weird feeling, he said "yea sometimes."

Now I remember when Bryan got this tube out of his side...it left a pretty wicked hole and it was tender and difficult to keep clean because it was so painful and fresh. But as the weeks went by the wound healed itself and eventually it was no longer painful...now it's only a scar with a story like no other.

Bryan and I talked while waiting in line that day about the scar and about the story behind the scar. That is part of Bryan's life from here on out...and talk about a reminder, every time he looks at that or when I see that, I go back to that time and I'm reminded that God was faithful in healing him. Sometimes that healing took longer than I wanted it to, but in the end...he was healed. He has a scar to prove it...that scar has a story that can used for to make God's name famous.

Got any scars like that?

Welcome Reece the Cat!

Another new member to the Prosser household...we've had her for a little over a month now and she's been a great addition. Give it up for Reece the Cat.

We got her when she was 8 weeks old...she's got some really cool color about her, almost like a Reece Cup, thus the name. She's a curious cat (aren't they all!) and FULL of energy!

So now we have two cats in the house...Sammy and Reece.

A beef with Beijing...

How sad...

The reason that the organizers took the decision to have the young girl lip-sync was because she was not that good at singing, but they liked how she looked. Instead they choose 7-year-old Yang Peiyi to sing the song. They did not want her to perform live as she wasn’t good looking enough for the ceremony.

Peiyi...here's what God thinks about you...

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day. Psalm 139

Olympics 2008

Dah, dah, dah, dum, dum, dum dum...dumdumdumdumdumdumtidumtadum...(Olympic theme song)

I love the Olympics...a true Olympic junkie! We watched the opening ceremonies on Friday and were WOWED. Last night watching the US swim relay team snag one from the French was a real treat (especially after they said they would smash the US).

All of it I love watching...so for the next two weeks I will be up until midnight. The staff I work with...I might be a bit blurry eyed the next several mornings.

And watching it in the newly opened "Prosser Theater"...very priceless!

Gotta go...Michael Phelps is getting ready to swim!

Adoption

We got a bad call Friday night about our adoption. Holly explains it very well here. I'm not sure what is next for us in this journey...Saturday night after the wedding we went walking around EKU's campus. We walked and talked about what's next.

It's too early to make any kind of a decision...our hearts are hurting, but God is still and always will be in control...this hasn't taken Him by surprise! We would covet your prayers...

Weddings

From time to time I have the opportunity to perform weddings. I really enjoy being a part of such a special occasion.

Today I married Chris Barger and Angela Diebold. Now I've known Chris since he was in the seventh grade as his youth minister...just a real special guy in my life. It's always a real honor to be a part of a former "yutes" wedding, although it makes me feel old!

Chris was handsome and dapper looking...Angela was a stunning looking bride. Lots of family and friends all gathered at the church...a great day of celebration!

But dang if I didn't mess it up...I'm walking Angela through her vows...she's repeating after me..."I Angela, take you Chris...to be my lawfully wedded WIFE!" Arghhhhhhh!! I immediately knew I said the wrong thing. And bless her heart, Angela just repeats what I'm saying, not her fault, but mine!

We laughed...and laughed a little more...maybe it was some comic relief?? But no not at a wedding...so we get to the ring exchange and dang if I didn't do it AGAIN. Somebody please take me out back and put me out of my misery...how can make the same mistake twice?? But I did...

So...in the end, they kissed and were officially married. It was a beautiful ceremony and a great day (minus one absent minded minister).

Life Lesson: You gotta know how to laugh at yourself!

Congratulations Chris and Angela...you guys were incredible today. Thank-you for allowing me to be a part!

hahaha...this is funny!

15 Years!

August 7th, 1993...I married my best friend in the entire world. We've been through some incredibly crazy adventures since then. Some we welcomed; some we wished we didn't walk through, but in the end our marriage was stronger from it; We anticipate 15 more years of the journey together!

Let me tell you...I love being married to Holly Prosser! We've been on a honeymoon since day one and I pray it never ends. So what's the secret?? Let me pass on three things as to why we have a great marriage:

1. We each have a personal relationship with God and He is in the middle of our
marriage...nuff said!
2. COMMUNICATION! COMMUNICATION! COMMUNICATION! oh yea...COMMUNICATION!
3. Philippians 2:1-5

Tonight Holly and I are going to the Melting Pot...we went there last anniversary. A very quaint place to sit, talk, eat and think about 15 years of marriage.

Basement Complete! (almost)

I think it's finally safe to say that the basement is complete minus the bathroom. We moved the "office" last weekend...got the internet up and running tonight (thanks Chad!)...even got the deer moved! So it's official...stop by anytime for a game of pool, maybe watch a movie, little x-box. Here are some final pics!

Great Wolf Lodge Wrap Up

Alright it's taken a week to get this post out...just been a busy week.

BUT...I give the Great Wolf Lodge a HUGE thumbs up! For three days nothing but swimming, water slides, lazy river, more water slides, some food, Starbucks!, serious card playing, and...oh yea, more water slides.

They have this one area that is called the Water Fort. All kinds of water trinkets...water guns, buckets filling up and dumping out, a GIANT bucket that fills and dumps out every 15 minutes or so.

The card playing was serious...of course it was a sanctioned game, so the trophy mouse was up for grabs. I played horrible...but Hollybird won, so the mouse stays at the Prosser house!

Here are a few pics of the weekend!
