Is this a good description?

Growing up in the church most of my life I've heard many sermons and teachings. Of many of the pastors that I have heard or been under I've heard many use the following phrase:

"We are sinners saved by grace."

Is this a good description of a Christian? Or better yet, is it the most accurate description of a Christian?

Before I give my thoughts, I'd like to know what you think. Let's hear some feedback from ya!

While I think it is an accurate description (we ARE sinners, and His Grace does save us), I think that it really focuses on the negative. I prefer to focus not on my sin, but on the fact that I am a royal priesthood, that I am 100% righteous because of His blood over me, that I am an heir to the throne ( a PRINCESS as the daughter of the KING). I think that we need to emphasize these things more in the church. Sure, we need for people to know that God saves the sinners, but it's also just as important that we explain to people that we don't HAVE to sin anymore. As a believer, I can choose not to sin! I have that within me. I think our emphasis shoudl be there.
Any other ideas out there?

Yeah, I guess it depends on how far you take "saved." "Saved," as in, saved from eternal damnation in hell as caused by sin without redemption, but also "saved" as in saved from the bondage of sin in this life, thereby freeing us to do the good works we were destined for. So, in that sense, I'd rather not be simply defined as a "sinner." Yes, I am still a sinner, but I'd rather just say I'm a person saved by grace. Guess I have to think about that one some more.
